Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you had heart-filling encounters with your loved ones yesterday.

This post is to send some practice updates:

Staff
Erin Cullins is now the point person at Each Peach for billing, scheduling, referrals and other miscellany. She wears many hats and Dr. Kitt appreciates her versatile skills!

Changes in care offerings:
Dr. Kitt is no longer offering any midwifery birth services at this time.

For fantastic homebirth midwifery care, consider Vivante Midwifery, now based out of the Healthy Living Building with Dr. Kitt! Sharon Evans and Dr. Kitt are so enjoying co-treating patients.

Another option for a birth center-esque birth is the alongside birthing unit at Adventist Hospital. with Dr. Catherine Schaefer and midwives Carissa St. Onge Carneiro & Kori Pienovi are providers at this location.

Dr. Kitt recommends and has worked with all of these women both as a midwife and doctor.

Additionally, Dr. Kitt is no longer offering pelvic floor work for male complaints. With staff and schedule changes, her office doesn’t have the resources to provide adequate support for this patient population.  For help with male pelvic pain, Dr. Kitt recommends Clearwater Clinic and West Portland Physical Therapy for superb care from very experienced providers.

Current care offerings:
Dr. Kitt welcomes pregnant and postpartum people in the office to help with minor complaints of pregnancy such as nausea, round ligament pain & fatigue, and loves to help speed postpartum recovery. She is continuing to welcome infants and children of all ages to her practice as well as offer wellness care for adults.

Billing updates:
We are currently reconciling co-pays and any balances due for the week on Fridays. If you need your copay charged at the time of your appointment, be sure to let Dr. Kitt know and she can do this while you are in clinic. If you are unsure of an outstanding balance, give Erin a call rather than waiting for billing reconciliation at the week’s end.

Please note – The financial agreement patients signed when patients they first come came to Each Peach states that we charge the credit card on file for any balance due (including but not limited to copay, coinsurance, deductible, supplements, homeopathics, blood draws and no show/late cancellation fees).  If this isn’t financially feasible impossible for you at this time, please let us know so we can work with you on other options that fit your budget.

Blood draws:
Dr. Kitt feels strongly that it’s important to offer blood draws in the office for convenience and speed of finding results. To cover Dr. Kitt’s time spent and materials used, the office will charge $25 for all blood draws going forward. We will no longer file blood draw procedure codes with insurance, but are happy to provide a superbill for you to seek reimbursement.  If you prefer to be given a lab requisition to take to your preferred lab, please let Dr. Kitt know as that is always an option.

Phone calls & texts:
Patient consults via phone call/text to Dr. Kitt about new or acute concerns unrelated to a recent visit will be billed to patients’ insurance companies. Patients may incur their copay or coinsurance for this service per their plan benefits.

Other:
Dr. Kitt is considering options to provide more comprehensive care to patients. Ideas include bringing on another naturopath or nurse practitioner to expand the practice coverage for pediatric care, women’s care and possibly also more manual therapy. If you know of any providers who would be a good fit for the practice and are seeking part time work, reach out to Dr. Kitt or Erin!

Wishing you moments of sunshine and warmth as we welcome those heralds that spring is on the way.

Best,

Dr. Kitt and Erin
