Dr. Kitt Guaraldi

Philosophy of practice:

With a unique ability to befriend humans of all ages, from 80 years to 8 minutes old, Dr. Kitt Guaraldi engages with patients believing that every person deserves to be fully seen and heard. She bears witness to breadth of the human experience & what individualizes each of us. Dr. Kitt considers her patients’ stories and how each element of their lives impacts their overall well-being when recommending tests, treatments or follow-up visits.

As far back as college, she blended her enthusiasm for people’s experiences and culture with scientific investigations in biology and chemistry. Dr. Kitt complemented her rigorous undergraduate education with hands-on training in Structural Integration (SI), a form of bodywork that relieves long-standing postural and movement pattern asymmetries through focusing on the connective tissue matrix of the body and the power of touch.

Relocating to Vermont early in her ND career, Dr. Kitt provided both primary and adjunct naturopathic care and home birth midwifery services to patients using botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition and manual therapy as her preferred first-line therapies. Dr. Kitt returned to Portland in 2015 with passion for providing care to families in every phase of manifestation: planning, creation, gestation, birth, postpartum recovery, motherhood, infancy & childhood.

Background:

With roots in New England, Dr. Kitt grew up dancing and cooking, sewing and creating. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Middlebury College with a degree in Italian and Biochemistry. Dr. Kitt later pursued bodywork training at the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA and Kinesis, Inc, in Damariscotta, Maine. A certificate degree in Homeopathy from the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH) re-ignited her drive to serve people as a physician with strong roots in interconnectedness and relationship with the natural world.

During medical school at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM), Dr. Kitt focused her clinical studies on pediatrics and women’s health at various locations, including a 3 year internship with a top ranked Portland certified nurse midwifery practice. As an intern, Dr. Kitt attended over 120 home and hospital births, and offered continuing care for mothers prenatally and postpartum and for babies through their early years. Dr. Kitt also worked in Portland’s community clinics treating children and underinsured adults during her clinical years.

Dr. Kitt  gave birth to her daughter Lucy in 2014. What a chance to live her medicine with all its magic and challenge as a working pregnant woman and then mother! Dr. Kitt welcomes new and returning patients to Each Peach Family Wellness for pregnancy & postpartum adjunct care, infant and pediatric wellness, adult primary care, homeopathy, structural integration and pelvic floor physical therapy.
